2022 has been a decent year for me, writing wise. I have four story acceptances this year, two of which saw publication. The other two remain in the pipeline and most likely will show up next year (but if they squeak into their publications before December 31st, I’ll update this post). Plus a single, super short flash piece I published on my blog that I think is worthy of consideration, too.
Fox and Troll Steal Math (GigaNotoSaurus, April 1st, 2022) – My first published novelette, and one of my favorite things that I’ve written. I would be deeply pleased if this received at least a little consideration for awards next year, and I hope to write more stories of Fox and Troll in the future.
Found Newspaper Article #1 – Albany American, 11/28/1890 (Trollbreath website) – A super short flash piece I wrote, formatted to look like an old newspaper clipping, then decided to put up on my website. Check it out and let me know if you like it.
The Gourmets (Mythaxis Magazine issue #31, September 2022) – A story of two unusual food critics and friends, set in a post-magical apocalypse Boston. Another one of the New England stories I keep writing, where the mundane meets the unusual.
And that’s it this year. It’s not as much as I’d hoped for, although I met my goal (1 more acceptance than last year was the goal), so I can’t complain. Here’s hoping 2023 brings yet even more acceptances, and a few more published stories to report out in next year’s awards eligibility post.
